School Finder assists in enhancing tertiary course chances through forward planning and dedicated study time, with the first step being understanding ATAR, which is the first step in the process.
The tool can predict your VCE ATAR and assist you in creating a comprehensive study plan for your VCE exam success.

Basic Structure of VCE
VCE comprises four units (1-4) over two yearsโYear 11 (Units 1 and 2) and Year 12 (Units 3 and 4). Some students may undertake Units 3 and 4 without prior completion of Units 1 and 2.
The Study Score
The study score is internally marked to determine a student’s ATAR, adjusted annually for standardization based on exam results and school-based assessments.
Subject Selection
VCE students must include an English-based subject, with flexibility in choosing their remaining three subjects.
General Achievement Test (GAT)
Compulsory for all Units 3 and 4 VCE students, the GAT assesses general skills and knowledge.
What is your VCE ATAR?
The Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) is a national ranking system used by tertiary institutions to compare student results from VCE/HSC qualifications. It is exclusively used by institutions for determining school leavers for tertiary courses, with results issued by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) and used by VTAC.
